About

LEAD INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER AT VERIZON
NEW YORK, NY

Hi, I’m Juliette!

Growing up along the coral reefs of the Florida Keys, where the ocean was my playground, my Cuban grandfather taught me to pick up on patterns, behaviours, and cues in the water long before I could pick up a marker and draw — when the fish disappear, something's shifting. When the ocean's color darkens, head back to the boat. When a puffer fish inflates, give it space. These weren't rules. They were a way of being present — of listening to your mind, your body, and your environment all at once.

That's what I try to do as a designer.

I believe objects have a responsibility to honour human intelligence, not compete with it. The best things we make should feel like something you already know how to read. They should speak quietly, work deeply, and earn their place in someone's life. Not through features or novelty. But through truth.

I'm an industrial designer with nearly a decade of experience, formerly at IDEO and OXO, where I helped bring over fifteen products to market across healthcare devices, kitchen gadgets, consumer electronics, and sports equipment. My practice spans industrial design, UX/UI, design research, and service design. I actively integrate AI workflows into my process where they make the most sense. I test obsessively. I research deeply. I care profoundly about who gets included in the process and what doesn't. I obsess over the details most people never consciously notice but always feel — the sound of two parts clicking together perfectly, the satisfaction of a parting line that fits with the smallest effort. Those moments matter. They're where trust is built. The work doesn't stop until it feels genuinely right in the hands of the person it was made for.

Right now I'm exploring how materials, form, and touch can carry meaning the way nature does — quietly, intuitively, without demanding your attention. My IDEA award-winning dive mask accessory is part of that exploration. So is the origami textile work I'm currently developing — tessellated structures woven into fabric that change shape to create physical, textured visual cues, the kind of layered tactile experience no digital screen can replicate. I'm also fascinated by how AI can be the missing piece — gathering data, recognising patterns, and creating fluid product experiences that feel seamless and personal.

It's all connected. It's all the same question asked different ways.

I'm a mentor, a collaborator, and a fierce advocate for women entering industrial design. I believe the best ideas are born between people — through listening, curiosity, and genuine co-creation.

If any of this resonates with you, I'd love to connect!
